Finnix 0.90, a Debian mini Live CD has Released Today

Today, Finnix 0.90, a Debian-based mini live CD designed for system administrators, has released.

As we said, Finnix is a small, self-contained, bootable Linux CD distribution for system administrators, based on Debian GNU/Linux. You can use it to mount and manipulate hard drives and partitions, monitor networks, rebuild boot records, install other operating systems, and much more.

"Finnix 90.0 has been released for the x86/AMD64, PowerPC, and UML/Xen platforms. Finnix is a small, self-contained, bootable Linux CD distribution for system administrators, based on Debian testing. Finnix 90.0 includes a new Linux kernel, faster booting, and the ability to boot from SATA CD-ROM and DVD-ROM devices, as well as updated Debian system software and bug fixes. After much delay, Finnix 90.0 includes Linux 2.6.22; it includes support for both Unionfs 2 and Aufs, with Unionfs as the default for stability reasons. Finnix 90.0 will now boot even quicker, about 8 seconds quicker than Finnix 89.0!"
