Gutsy introduces a number of interesting desktop features, like Compiz Fusion for 3D desktop effects, instant printer configuration, Kubuntu System Settings for KDE 4, Ubuntu Mobile - 2D & 3D Graphics for Intel MID chipsets, Mobile and Embedded Kernel, Free Flash SWFDec, and add Ebox to the Ubuntu Server offering.
In addition, this release features AppArmor for extra security on servers, and a variety of out-of-the-box server configurations that address mail, print, database and file server tasks, making Ubuntu fast to deploy and manage on the server.
Also incorporate Lupin, that allows to install and boot Ubuntu (or any Debian based distro) from within a loopmounted file. The main advantage is that the installation can be performed without having to burn a CD-Rom, and without having to modify existing partitions. This implies that Ubuntu can be installed/uninstalled as an ordinary program.
With Color Filters, create a set of filters that will enhance the contrast of items on the display for colour blind users. Most of the Gnome and KDE desktops are well-designed in terms of having sufficient colour contrast. But some webpages, graphs or other content may not be as accessible and could benefit from enhancing filters.
And much more ... OK, we'll see Gutsy tomorrow.
