UbuntuME stands for Ubuntu Muslim Edition is a free, open source operating system based on popular Ubuntu Linux. Its main feature is the inclusion of Islamic software, such as prayer times, a Koran study tool and a web content filtering utility. As we all know, Ubuntu is a great distro, easy to use for a novice user, with the most-used Office, Internet, Graphics and Video applications already installed but we think that for Muslim users it would be great to have “out of the box” Islamic software and tools installed as well. You can download UbuntuME based on Ubuntu 7.04 at here. If you have installed of other varians of Ubuntu, you can feel the UbuntuME taste with add manually the Islamic packages with download its manually like describe here: Download this package.
