Arch Linux is a lightweight and flexible linux distribution that tries to "Keep It Simple". The official packages optimized for the i686 and x86-64 architectures. It complement its official package sets with a community-operated package repository that grows in size and quality each and every day.
Arch Linux is an independently developed, i686-optimised Linux distribution targeted at competent Linux users. It uses 'pacman', its home-grown package manager, to provide updates to the latest software applications with full dependency tracking.
Today, the new Arch Linux (2007.08-2) "Don't Panic" has been released. This is the first release to use its new repo layout.
